Since 1996, the Department of Defense has entrusted Axiom to support TRICARE, the multi-billion dollar a year program providing managed healthcare to more than 8.7 million eligible service personnel, retirees, and dependents.
Our team supports a wide variety of TRICARE operations. The healthcare networks are managed under contract to private companies. Axiom supported the awarding of these contracts, and as the program has grown, each contract has been subject to hundreds of modifications. Axiom staff streamlined the process for tracking, evaluating, and executing these change orders.
Axiom's program management staff helped design and build the National Enrollment Database tracking benefit eligibility and reengineered the claims processing and case management procedures. We provided critical support to case management process improvements. And our staff is working to strengthen fraud detection and protect the program's financial resources.
Our strengths reach beyond healthcare program management support. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention looked to Axiom's epidemiological research to validate its HIV/AIDs programs. The National Institute on Drug Abuse and the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention called on Axiom to verify their public health research programs. Long-haul truck drivers are uncommonly vulnerable to a variety of disabilities. When the Department of Transportation investigated the incidence and severity of these conditions, they relied upon Axiom experts to evaluate the department's research findings.
