Accessibility Services

The 1998 Rehabilitation Act Amendments require every federal agency to provide all assistive technologies necessary to ensure that federal employees with visual, hearing, mobility, and cognitive disabilities have unimpeded access to federal electronic information technologies (EIT). Axiom has unsurpassed expertise in assessing agency-wide accessibility requirements. With detailed knowledge of Sections 508 and 504 requirements, we are experts in both sides of the accessibility equation. We can select the software and hardware appropriate for each employee's type and degree of disability, and modify these so that every worker has equal access to the tools they need to do their jobs. Equally important, we can assess agencies' EIT systems to determine content and systems modifications needed to accommodate the strengths and limits of all available assistive technologies. (Also see Axiom's IM/IT capabilities)

Our experts can produce the instructional materials needed to train employees with disabilities, IT staff, and help desk attendants on the use of assistive technologies. Our trainers have a proven track record of client and customer satisfaction.

Axiom has provided critical support to the Department of Defense's Computer /Electronic Accommodations Program, HUD's Assistive Technology Program, and the Labor Department's Central Office for Assistive Services and Technology, to name just a few. Our commitment is clear: to eliminate artificial barriers and help all workers achieve their full potential.
