Axiom Client Wins Vision Award for TRICARE Annual Report
August 17, 2004
Falls Church, VA . Axiom Resource Management announced today that the TRICARE Management Activity's Communications and Customer Service (C&CS) directorate has won a Bronze Award in the 2003 Vision Awards for this year's annual stakeholder's report. The Vision Awards are bestowed by the League of American Communications Professionals in a national competition recognizing excellence in strategic, corporate communications.
Axiom Resource Management, Inc. is the largest single private contractor providing the C&CS directorate with technical, creative, and program management support and assisted in developing the 2004 annual report.
"The Department of Defense operates the world's largest unified health care system, serving 8.9 million active duty personnel, family members, and retirees," said Axiom Parnder Doug Peardon as he related news of the award.
Known as TRICARE in reference to the three separate military services it serves, the program has expanded rapidly in recent years, adding new benefits and developing new technologies to automate patient services from making appointments to filling prescriptions.
"Keeping beneficiaries informed of program improvements," Peardon said, "is vital to the success of the communications mission. Clearly, C&CS is among the most effective communications teams in the nation."
The League of American Communications Professionals evaluates annual reports for creativity, clarity of message, report narrative, information accessibility, and report covers. TRICARE's 2003 annual report earned the C&CS directorate Honorable Mention in the league's Vision Awards.
The annual stakeholders' reports are widely distributed. Members of Congress and cabinet secretaries, senior Pentagon officials, and every military hospital and clinic receives a copy. TRICARE beneficiaries are notified that they can download the report from the TRICARE website.
"C&CS, with Axiom's support," Peardon observed, "isn't just winning awards for their communications expertise. They're setting industry standards, and we're proud to be part of the C&CS team."
