Axiom Awarded Contract to Support TMA HIPAA Compliance Program
June 12, 2007
Falls Church, Virginia - June 12, 2007 - Axiom Resource Management, Inc., announced today the award of an important contract to assist the TRICARE Management Activity (TMA) in complying with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Axiom will provide program coordination, analysis, and technical support for HIPAA as TMA works to ensure the enterprise's electronic standards meet with all legislative requirements.
TMA is now working to complete the requirements of the National Provider Identifier Rule for all Military Health System-sponsored healthcare providers.
"This is an extremely complex task," said Axiom's HIPAA E-Standards project director Judy Metz, "requiring technical expertise in the HIPAA requirements and well established working relationships with all TMA offices as well as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)." CMS is the federal agency that has taken the lead in creating and maintaining a national provider identifier database.
"Axiom has supported TMA's HIPAA compliance program from its inception," said Axiom Partner Doug Peardon. He attributed the contract award to the trust Axiom has earned in its long-standing support for the HIPAA compliance program.
