April 18, 2007
Falls Church, Virginia. Axiom Resource Management, Inc., was honored by the Fisher House Foundation on April 18 in Falls Church. The presentation was attended by nearly 300 Axiom staff members who had assembled for the company's annual "All Hands" meeting.
Fisher House Foundation Trustee Mark "Ranger" Jones presented Axiom partners Doug Peardon and Kevin Riley with a framed and mounted Fisher House flag, and thanked the people of Axiom for the firm's tremendous support for the Fisher House mission. He noted that over the last three years, Axiom has raised over $63,000 for the Fisher House program, through Axiom's annual charity golf tournament.
The inscription within the flag case reads, "In recognition of exceptional support to the Fisher House Program and America's military service men and women and their loved ones."
Doug Peardon, speaking on behalf of everyone at Axiom, expressed his thanks for the recognition and noted that Axiom's commitment to Fisher House is very strong. "We are honored to help the military heroes and family members who stay in Fisher Houses during the period of their recuperation. And it is a special privilege to have Fisher House residents join us for our tournament each year," he said.
A total of 35 Fisher Houses are located on the campuses of 23 military and veterans medical centers, offering military families the chance to lodge as close as possible to loved ones who require hospitalization for wounds, illness, or serious injury. The proceeds from Axiom's annual golf tournaments are dedicated to supporting the Fisher Houses of the Washington, DC area.
