Axiom Wins RITPO Contract
April 3, 2006
Falls Church, Virginia. Axiom Resource Management, Inc. announced today that the TRICARE Management Activity (TMA) had awarded the company a 5 year contract valued at $3.2 million to provide information technology acquisition documentation support to TMA's Resource Information Technology Program Office (RITPO).
TRICARE is the Department of Defense program delivering high quality healthcare to uniformed service members, their families, retirees and their families. RITPO is responsible for developing information technology systems that automate and improve a broad range of healthcare business systems, from healthcare provider credentialing to medical coding and collections to scheduling and appointing.
"RITPO helps TMA improve the productivity and efficiency of healthcare management and the quality of military medicine," said Mr. Mike Thornton, the manager of Axiom's RITPO support team. "Few goals are more urgent during the Global War On Terror than strengthening military medicine."
Developing IT systems that can be used by each of the military services and can be integrated into TMA's management of its global network of managed care providers is one of RITPO's primary responsibilities. It is challenging and important work. Security breaches must be prevented to protect the confidentiality of patient data, yet every day new cyber-threats emerge, just as new Internet or wireless applications are brought to market that can bear directly on yesterday's investments or tomorrow's IT acquisition decisions.
Axiom will now assume responsibility for helping to support RITPO as it identifies opportunities to strengthen TMA's IT systems and integrates strategic IT investments throughout the TMA enterprise.
"We're excited about this contract," said Mr. Doug Peardon, Axiom's Chief Operating Officer. "We understand the importance of RITPO's work. America's entire military family deserves the best healthcare on earth. RITPO will help ensure they get it, and we're proud to be part of the RITPO team."
