VA Selects Axiom for IT Support

March 25, 2003

Falls Church, Virginia. Twenty five million U.S. veterans-nearly three-fourths of whom saw service during wartime-and as many as 45 million family members, look to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration for access to quality medical care. The VA takes its responsibility seriously, so when it needed additional web site support recently, the VA looked to Axiom Resource Management, Inc.

Managing far-flung programs such as the Foreign Medical Program, the Civilian Health and Medical Program (CHAMPVA), and the Children of Women Viet Nam Veterans, the VA's Health Administration Center (HAC), located in Denver Colorado, relies on its web site as a principal means of communicating with patients, health care providers, and program administrators throughout the country. But with new, interactive capabilities becoming available every day, the HAC requires additional web support, and this specialized service is the province of Axiom's Keymind Division.

"Keymind is widely recognized for our ability to design web sites that blend visual creativity with simple, intuitive functionality," said Shane Oleson, president of Axiom's Keymind division. "We're delighted to have this chance to help the VA and the veterans who rely on VA healthcare programs."

The relatively modest contract for design and maintenance of the HAC web site will be Keymind's first opportunity to partner with Axiom's ever-expanding Colorado offices, where most staff members support the TRICARE Management Activity, the defense department's healthcare program supporting 8.7 million military personnel, retirees, and dependents.

"We have had two great partnering opportunities with the HAC since 2001 and we welcome the chance to work again with the VA," said Jon Tobin, who will supervise the operational activities of the VA's HAC web support staff. "Our success delivering top quality program support, and our ability to call upon the expertise of Axiom's Keymind division are a perfect match."

Six years ago Axiom was a one-employee firm, and the company has grown into a formidable workforce of 400 by virtue of its exacting attention to detail and its commitment to client satisfaction.

"This is a very important win for Axiom," said Frank Cumberland, Axiom's vice-president for communications, marketing, and strategic planning. "The VA is an important client, and this is important work. We look forward to providing top quality Axiom support to the professionals who support America's veterans."

Axiom Resource Management, Inc. is headquartered in Falls Church, Virginia with branch offices throughout the country.
