Axiom Congratulates TMA on Winning Two Magellan Awards

February 2, 2009

Falls Church, VA. Axiom Resource Management, Inc. announced today that the TRICARE Management Activity (TMA), among the firm's most important clients, has received two Magellan Awards in the 2008 Communications Campaign Competition. The winning campaigns were designed and launched by the TMA Communications and Customer Service directorate. Axiom supports the directorate with a wide range of technical and creative services.

The competition, sponsored each year by the League of American Communications Professionals, drew more than 450 entries. TMA competed against such internationally recognized firms as Coca Cola, ESPN, and Kodak, as well as other federal agencies. Winning first place in the Community Relations, Government and Education category was TMA's Wounded, Ill and Injured Service Member campaign, while second place was awarded to TMA's Childhood Obesity Prevention and Awareness campaign.

"Whether the task is helping to prevent childhood obesity or helping wounded, ill or injured service members recover and return to full and active lives," said Douglas Peardon, Axiom managing partner, "Axiom is proud to help our C&CS clients achieve their communications objectives. The C&CS team is truly deserving of this recognition."

The competition gives an overall ranking to those efforts considered among the 50 best entries of the year, regardless of the category of the submission. For the first time, TMA joined the elite top ten, with the Wounded, Ill and Injured campaign placing at the number eight spot, while the Childhood Obesity Prevention campaign ranked 24th of the 450 total entries.

Recognizing that many campaigns have ambitious goals but very restricted resources, the LACP also recognized the Wounded, Ill, and Injured Service Members campaign as "Best on a Limited Budget" against all other submissions. In prior competitions, TMA has earned seven Magellan Awards.
